LONG POND MUSIC FEST
In the summer of 2024, Long Pond Conservancy held its Long Pond Music Fest fundraiser at the Grange Hall in Whallonsburg, NY. The five-hour music festival featured two local bands, Alice’s Fault and Piotr Barcz Trio, but had the talented acoustical guitar of Chris Maron fill in between the shows. The festival also included wonderful refreshments provided by Russ and Kasca Bailey and bartending by the Mountain Dog.

Long Pond Music Fest will be an annual summer event. Keep an eye out for the 2025 lineup and date!!

2024 LONG POND MUSIC FEST
POND SPRINT
Long Pond Conservancy, along with Poko-O-MacCready’s Adirondack Scholarship Fund, celebrates fall with its annual Pond Sprint and Octoberfest fundraiser. The 12.5-mile race runs around Long Pond and climbs Sugarloaf and Rattlesnake Mountains before returning back to the starting point at Poko. The race is quickly becoming a very popular event. But if running the half marathon is too strenuous, then there is another option of climbing just Rattlesnake from the Highlands Forge Lake and then walking back to the start. After the race, Pond Sprint celebrates Oktoberfest with plenty of Brats and Beer for all of their participants and volunteers. With the fall colors just about peak and the cooler temperatures, it is a perfect way to spend the day helping preserve land around Long Pond and aiding in sending kids to Camp.
